Monthly siren test set for Tuesday
The state’s monthly test of sirens for its outdoor warning system will be held at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency announced.
There will be a steady oneminute sounding of all warning sirens used to alert the public to any emergency that may pose a threat to life or property.
At the sound of sirens, people should turn on a radio or
television for information and instructions about an impending emergency. Aside from natural hazards, the emergency alert system is used for terrorist incidents or acts of war.
To report a problem with sirens, call 270-7285.
