DMVL’s Ki­hei of­fice re­opens

The Depart­ment of Mo­tor Ve­hi­cle and Li­cens­ing Ki­hei Satel­lite Of­fice, which had been closed for ren­o­va­tions since July 3, re­opened for busi­ness Wed­nes­day fol­low­ing a ren­o­va­tion project.

The im­prove­ments in­clude an in­crease in the num­ber of ser­vice coun­ters, more seat­ing in the wait­ing area, the ad­di­tion of a driver’s li­cense test­ing area, and up­grades to the driver li­cens­ing cam­era sys­tem and soft­ware. Im­prove­ments also were made to cus­tomer flow; if there are more than five peo­ple in line for a par­tic­u­lar ser­vice, cus­tomers have the op­tion of re­ceiv­ing a text mes­sage when they ad­vance to third in line.

A re­open­ing cer­e­mony was held with a rib­bon un­ty­ing cer­e­mony.
