Pas­sen­ger de­lays flight de­par­ture

A Hawai­ian Air­lines flight that was pre­par­ing to leave Kahu­lui Air­port was de­layed Wed­nes­day morn­ing be­cause of a dis­tur­bance by a pas­sen­ger, who was es­corted off the plane, an air­line spokesman said.

The pi­lot of Hawai­ian Air­lines Flight 46, which was head­ing to San Jose, Calif., re­turned the air­craft to the gate af­ter the dis­tur­bance, ac­cord­ing to Alex Da Silva, an air­line spokesman.

Au­thor­i­ties met the plane and es­corted the pas­sen­ger off the plane, he said.

The air­craft car­ry­ing 230 pas­sen­gers and 10 crew mem­bers left Maui at 11:41 a.m. and was sched­uled to ar­rive at San Jose In­ter­na­tional Air­port at 7:37 p.m., Da Silva said.

The flight had been sched­uled to leave Maui at 11 a.m.
