Passenger delays flight departure
A Hawaiian Airlines flight that was preparing to leave Kahului Airport was delayed Wednesday morning because of a disturbance by a passenger, who was escorted off the plane, an airline spokesman said.
The pilot of Hawaiian Airlines Flight 46, which was heading to San Jose, Calif., returned the aircraft to the gate after the disturbance, according to Alex Da Silva, an airline spokesman.
Authorities met the plane and escorted the passenger off the plane, he said.
The aircraft carrying 230 passengers and 10 crew members left Maui at 11:41 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at San Jose International Airport at 7:37 p.m., Da Silva said.
The flight had been scheduled to leave Maui at 11 a.m.
