Kuehu helps lead Bears past Sabers in 5

The Bald­win High School girls vol­ley­ball team earned its sec­ond straight five-set win Thurs­day, de­feat­ing Maui High 13-25, 25-23, 25-14, 26-24, 15-10 at Jon Gar­cia Gym in Wailuku to take sole pos­ses­sion of fourth place in the Maui In­ter­scholas­tic League Di­vi­sion I stand­ings.

Alisa Kuehu had 19 kills for the Bears (2-5), who beat La­hainaluna on Tues­day. Siena DeCam­bra had 29 as­sists and 11 kills, and Avei Sil­i­faiva had four kills, four digs and two blocks.

The Sabers fell to 1-6.


At Hoole­hua, No­hokula Lind had 13 kills, five blocks and two aces as the Dragons swept by the Farm­ers 25-17, 25-23, 25-22.

Shya Roback had six kills and two aces, and Shaylee Roback added two aces and 24 as­sists for Hana (2-1).

Shae­lyn McCuthcheon had eight kills to lead Molokai (4-3). Se­hja Luhi Pe­dro added seven kills and Mary Grace Rin­gor dished out 21 as­sists.
