Haiku as­so­ci­a­tion to meet Thurs­day

Haiku Com­mu­nity As­so­ci­a­tion is ask­ing res­i­dents to share their ideas from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thurs­day at the Haiku Com­mu­nity Cen­ter for ac­tions needed in the area.

Ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease, small groups will dis­cuss Haiku’s needs in three broad “Ac­tion Ar­eas” that have been cov­ered in past meet­ings: re­pairs/up­grades to pub­lic roads and fa­cil­i­ties; pro­tec­tion of nat­u­ral and cul­tural re­sources; and hav­ing more say in fu­ture de­vel­op­ments.

Top ac­tion items and pos­si­ble so­lu­tions will be for­warded to the Maui County Council for the 2018-19 bud­get process and state leg­is­la­tors.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Potluck pupu and bev­er­ages will be avail­able.

The meet­ing also will in­clude up­dates on lo­cal ac­tiv­i­ties such as the Haiku Hoolaule‘a and Flower Fes­ti­val, Ha­makua open space, the Kalakupua Play­ground and other as­so­ci­a­tion projects.
