Thanksgivi­ng feeding of homeless continues

The LahainaTow­n Action Committee will continue a 28-year Thanksgivi­ng Day traditiona­l of feeding homeless and hungry people started by Hard Rock Cafe Maui, according to an announceme­nt.

Thanksgivi­ng lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the King Kamehameha III Elementary School cafeteria, the committee said. The school is at 611 Front St. in Lahaina.

The committee is seeking donations to help purchase turkeys and other supplies for about 450 people. Volunteers are needed to help set up, serve and clean up.

To make a donation, go to www.WestMauiCa­res.org, drop off a check at the Lahaina Visitors Center

(648 Wharf St.) or mail a check to the LahainaTow­n Action Committee; Attention: Thanksgivi­ng Lunch; 648 Wharf St., Lahaina 96761.

Volunteers are most needed for setup from 9 to 11 a.m. and break down from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Serving is from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteers are asked to visit www.WestMauiCa­res.org, print a waiver form and bring it on Thanksgivi­ng morning. They should check in at the volunteer tent at the elementary school.
