MEDEIROS, RAINBOW WAHINE HOLD CLINIC FOR MAUI YOUTH
CLOCKWISE FROM PHOTO ABOVE: Leialoha Medeiros, a 2017 Kamehameha Schools Maui graduate, talks to teammates during a free youth soccer clinic conducted by the University of Hawaii women’s soccer team on Saturday at Maui High School in Kahului. Medeiros, the only Maui player currently on the Rainbow Wahine roster, was last season’s Maui Interscholastic League Player of the Year. “I’m just really glad I get to be a part of UH and be a role model for Hawaii kids, who might not have that same attention,” she said. About 300 keiki participated in the clinic that included welcoming remarks from Lt. Gov. Doug Chin. ◆ Serenity Fernandez, 9, of Maui scores a goal during a drill. ◆ Peyton Diamond (left), 9, of Wailuku and Kadence Keomaka, 9, of Kihei run to a ball. ◆ Dylan Kuia (left), 10, of Kahului dribbles past Aidan Childers, 10, of Wailuku.
