Hawai­ian be­gins new di­rect flights

Hawai­ian Air­lines launched new daily non­stop flights Wed­nes­day from Kahu­lui Air­port to San Diego In­ter­na­tional Air­port, ac­cord­ing to an an­nounce­ment.

Hawai­ian Air­lines Flight No. 38 leaves Maui at 12:40 p.m., ar­riv­ing in San Diego at 9 p.m. The re­turn Flight No. 37 leaves San Diego at 7 a.m. and ar­rives on Maui at 9:55 a.m.

The air­line flew its wide-body Boe­ing 767 air­craft on Wed­nes­day, but it plans to use nar­row­body Air­bus A321­neo air­craft on the route as more of the new air­craft join Hawai­ian’s fleet in the com­ing months.

The re­sump­tion of Kahu­luiSan Diego ser­vice com­ple­ments Hawai­ian’s daily non­stop flights be­tween Honolulu and San Diego, which has been of­fered since the sum­mer of 2001, the an­nounce­ment says.

On May 31, the air­line will be­gin daily ser­vice be­tween Honolulu and Long Beach Air­port.
