Hawaiian begins new direct flights
Hawaiian Airlines launched new daily nonstop flights Wednesday from Kahului Airport to San Diego International Airport, according to an announcement.
Hawaiian Airlines Flight No. 38 leaves Maui at 12:40 p.m., arriving in San Diego at 9 p.m. The return Flight No. 37 leaves San Diego at 7 a.m. and arrives on Maui at 9:55 a.m.
The airline flew its wide-body Boeing 767 aircraft on Wednesday, but it plans to use narrowbody Airbus A321neo aircraft on the route as more of the new aircraft join Hawaiian’s fleet in the coming months.
The resumption of KahuluiSan Diego service complements Hawaiian’s daily nonstop flights between Honolulu and San Diego, which has been offered since the summer of 2001, the announcement says.
On May 31, the airline will begin daily service between Honolulu and Long Beach Airport.
