Bette Embry Holliday
Bette Embry Holliday, also known Christie was born to Bette S. Holliday and Ralph C. Holliday on February 21, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland. She died peacefully on March 17, 2020 at her home in Fort Bragg, California. After attending high school in Baltimore and some college, including 2 years at Connecticut College for Women in Connecticut, Christie moved to the Mendocino, California area where she lived for approximately 40 years.
Betsy was spiritual, creative, persistent, impish and full of gusto, which was manifested in everything she did. She concentrated much of her creativity toward her beloved community. Her many adventures included harvesting sea vegetables, holding Bistro gatherings, as well as teaching macrobiotic cooking and Non Violent Communication. She had a love of people, nature, music, creative couture and language; which was often expressed through her poetry. She was a whirlwind of activity.
Her surviving siblings Ralph Cadot Holliday, III, Richard Drake Holliday, and Jocelyn Holliday Wagner, as well as her dear friends in the Mendocino area will miss Christie.
