Bradley Cooper upsets fans by showing up at the DNC
Bradley Cooper is taking flak from Republicans over his appearance at this week’s Democratic National Convention.
The actor, who played war hero and conservative icon Chris Kyle in 2014’s “American Sniper,” was ripped on social media by fans of the movie, who saw him and Bob McGrath, with Cookie Monster at the 2009 Daytime Emmys, and two other longtime “Sesame Street” stars have been fired by HBO. girlfriend Irina Shayk sitting in the crowd on Wednesday.
“We all just saw Bradley Cooper, who played Chris Kyle … at the Democratic National Convention. I’m appalled, and extremely disappointed,” an unidentified person posted on Twitter, according to the New York Daily News.
Another person wrote Cooper is “dead to me.”
This prompted other social media users to point out that Cooper is, in fact, an actor.
“So repubs are mad #BradleyCooper was at #DNC bc he played Chris Kyle? Don’t tell them Christian Bale isn’t really Batman,” wrote someone named Olivia. Wait … what? Someone else wrote, “The caliber of stupidity of GOP’ers who actually believe Bradley Cooper has to have Chris Kyle’s political beliefs in order to portray Kyle.”
Cooper has never hidden how he leans politically. He’s been seen at events hosted by President Barack Obama at the White House.
