Lupita Nyong’o says she’s back in next Star Wars film

-

Lupita Nyong’o confirmed Wednesday she appears in “Star Wars: Episode VIII.” Well, her voice does. The 33-year-old actress said on “The Ellen DeGeneres” show that her character from “Star Wars: The FBI is investigating charges of child abuse against Brad Pitt. Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on Monday. The Force Awakens” comes back for the next installment. Which is good because she was awesome … according to, uh, some people.

Apparently there was a rumor she wouldn’t. “I don’t know where this rumor came from,” Nyong’o said. “I have no idea.”

Nyong’o plays Maz Kanata, a pirate-friendly, Force-sensitive humanoid who is more than 1,000 years old. She lives in a castle on the planet Takodana. Or, at least she did, until the First Order blew it up in the last movie. The character is made possible by CGI.

“You know, you never really know when you shoot your scenes in a movie which ones are going to make it and all that, so it’s always fingers crossed,” she said. “But as far as I know I’m in it.”

“Star Wars: Episode VIII” hits theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
