Sessions ignoring an immigration reality

Although I am a lifelong Republican, Donald Trump has converted me into a Democrat. Attorney General Jeff Sessions stated “To have a lawful system of immigration that serves the national interest, we cannot admit everyone who would like to come here. That is an open border policy and the American people have rightly rejected it” (Page 1A, Sept. 6). He ignored that, except for native Americans, we are all immigrants, and if the choice was theirs we would all (including him) be living in different countries. I stand with former President Barack Obama’s statement “To target these young people is wrong because they have done nothing wrong.”
