Don’t feed media flames with Spencer protest

The Mercury News Weekend - - OPINION -

Robert Spencer and his enablers would like nothing more than a loud, noisy, and hopefully violent protest when he speaks at Stanford, generating lots of press and images of the left attempting to stifle his right to speak. I would suggest that instead of giving himwhat he wants, students stay away from the speech and show their feelings of support for the Muslim community by donning head scarves and hijabs for the day and going about their lives as they normally would. The narrative would change to one of support for an oppressed community instead of feeding the media flames of a racist provocateur. — Doug Edwards, Los Altos
