Measures A and B offer housing, traffic fixes
A common concern expressed when new housing is proposed is that it will increase traffic. Much of our region’s traffic is actually the result of a super economy, with just one house built for every eight jobs created in the past five years.
Two measures on the November ballot are vitally important and synergistic. Measure A is a $950 million bond to build housing for those most vulnerable — the homeless, veterans, seniors, and those suffering from mental health issues and substance abuse. Measure B would raise $6 billion to fund BART to Silicon Valley, increase Caltrain capacity, repair our roads, add bus service and bike lanes. It will transform our transportation landscape and expand mobility options for all.
SPUR has a long history of supporting affordable housing and transportation investments. Measures A and B will enable us to keep up with our economic growth and provide new housing and needed transportation improvements. Teresa Alvarado San Jose Director SPUR
