No room for hate at our universities
We, the founding co-chairs of Muslim-Jewish Connection of the Peninsula, write to express our horror at the appearance of Robert Spencer, a wellknown national fomenter of Islamophobia, at Stanford on Tuesday at the invitation of a student group.
There is room in our community for many political viewpoints, but there is no room for hate. Robert Spencer peddles in hate. He mischaracterizes, demonizes, and stereotypes Muslims and their beliefs.
Our organization works to deepen relationships between Muslims and Jews. We support one another as we combat racism, discrimination, and hatred against both of our communities. We understand that the only solution to the hatred in our world is to know one another.
We stand together in profound opposition to hateful messages directed against any of us. — Rabbi Nat Ezray, Congregation Beth Jacob, Redwood City
