Failure to spend mental health funds outrageous

Outrage is not a strong enough description for the emotion one feels after reading “Mental illness funds unspent” (Page 1B, March 11).

With millions of our mentally ill citizens living on the street or in their cars with no access to health care, no wonder we experience episodes of violence by the untreated mentally ill in our population.

The governor should identify those responsible for this incompetence and replace them with capable people. Untreated mental illness is yet another failure of our broken health care system.
