Yukie (Ku­ramoto) Mat­suoka, born on Au­gust 4, 1935 in Hilo, Hawaii, to the late Masako Ku­ramoto and Masato Ku­ramoto, passed away at age 83 on Oc­to­ber 3, 2018 in San Jose, CA. Yukie grad­u­ated from San Jose State Univer­sity with a de­gree in nurs­ing. She worked at var­i­ous hos­pi­tals and health cen­ters and was a hos­pice nurse for many years be­fore re­tir­ing in 2002. Yukie was the lov­ing wife of the late Robert Mi­noru Mat­suoka. Yukie is sur­vived by her daugh­ters, Ch­eryl Ca­vanagh and Denise Mat­suoka; son, Eric Mat­suoka; grand­chil­dren, Tim Ca­ton, Ayme Dickson, Daniel Dickson, Jayme Ca­vanagh and Keelin Mat­suoka; great-grand­chil­dren Gabriel Talav­era and Van Dickson; broth­ers, Richard Ku­ramoto, Ger­ald Ku­ramoto and Bur­ton Ku­ramoto; and sis­ters, Saeko Sato and Kiku Sasaki. She was pre­ceded in death by her broth­ers, Den­nis Ku­ramoto and Ter­ance Ku­ramoto; and sis­ter, Toshiko Kukino. Yukie loved golf, trav­el­ing, ball­room danc­ing, cook­ing, bak­ing, and the Golden State War­riors. Friends and fam­ily are in­vited to at­tend the memo­rial ser­vice on Oc­to­ber 20, 2018 at 5:30pm at the San Jose Bud­dhist Church Bet­suin at 640 N. Fifth Street in San Jose.
