Ni ka na wa ah (Small Voice)

Eldest of 8 children born to Frank and Theresa Montour. She loved her life on the family farm. In 1948 she married Russell Imrie. After starting their family they brought their 4 children to California joining the Imrie clan that had settled in Santa Clara Valley. They had one more child born in San Jose. While Charlotte worked hard at home, Russ worked on golf courses, eventually as the head groundskeeper of the Cambrian golf course. When they moved to the Cambrian area Charlotte was hired at Good Samaritan Hospital. After retiring they returned to Canada. Russ passed away in 1996 and Charlotte remained in Kahnawake.

Charlotte loved reading, road trips, cooking, camping, Tahoe, baseball, their rustic cabin near Oroville which they shared with friends Pete and Faye Moga, golf, pow wows, music and most importantly, her family.

In passing she joins her parents, her husband Russell, sisters Leatrice, Jeanine, and Helen, brother Grant and beloved grandson, Paul.

Her children Russell, Alexander, Nancy, Eileen, Phyllis and their spouses; 13 grandchildren and spouses; 9 great grandchildren; sisters Isabelle, Darlene, Josie and many family, friends and dear friend Colleen Porter will journey on without her.

A special thank you to the Kateri Memorial Hospital staff for their professional and tender care of our Mother.

Her voice was small when she arrived in this world, but she was strong of heart, tradition, love, friendship and faith. O:Nen Nikanawaah; Our love follows you.
