Norchester Red Knights rout Brandywine
The Norchester Red Knights kicked off Week 2 of their 57th season last Saturday, Sept. 9 with a slate of road games at Brandywine. The 80-lb. team won 19-0 shutout while the 130-lb. team won a 27-0.

The 80-lb. team won in a 19-0 shutout, led by the defensive play of Mason Hoffman, Preston Miller and Sam Funk. The offensive line provided great protection for QB Tyler Drumheller on a touchdown pass to Jaiden Carpenter. Deymein Doctor and Caden Longworth added rushing scores behind the blocking of Ayden Shaffer, Jacob Bunting, Brady Funk, Misan Onofomi, Bryce Kitchen, Evan Pettine, Gabe Psolka and Deon Taylor.
The 130-lb. team avenged its 2016 loss to BYC with a 27-0 victory that included a 40-yard touchdown pass from Will Whitlock to tight end Drew Florkowski. The Red Knights added rushing touchdowns from Whitlock, Tony Villarosa, and Avrey Grimm.
The defensive front of Colin King, Calvin Wolfrey, Josh Barron, Gage Parker and Hunter Trott wreaked havoc against the Bulldogs’ offense. The secondary was superb, with Gavin Psolka, Gabe Rinda, Bryce Caffrey, Josh Bunting and corner back Deven Venerra, who picked off a BYC pass in the shutout effort.
The Norchester ground game was paced by center Garrett Bartosiewicz, and offensive linemen James Bean, Josh Barron, Gabbie Werner-Huth and Mike Maggio. Nathan Langlois, Simir Coleman, and Aden O’Donnell were outstanding on special teams.
