Boyertown: The Boyertown Lions Club will hold its dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Friendship Hook and Ladder Co., South Reading Avenue and Warwick Street. Amity Lioness will be joining us. The program will be on the April 2017 trip to Chicago for the International Convention.
Phoenixville: Professional musician Ivan Stiles, autoharp and more, will entertain the Afternoon Music Club of Phoenixville at1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the First United Methodist Church of Phoenixville, 865 S. Main St. The club, which has been in continuous operation since 1945, welcomes guests for a nominal donation for the concert at the door and invites all to refreshments after the program and brief meeting. Boyertown: At the October meeting of the Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club, members enjoyed an informative program presented by two foster child advocates from CASA Berks County. Club members wore purple for Domestic Violence Awareness month. Also, the group presented 28 “Birthday bags” to the CASA ladies which were created by members to be given to the foster children. This is one of many projects the group has done in keeping with the two-year Pa. GFWC President’s Project “Enrich, Educate, Empower — Every Child, Every Day !”
