Boy­er­town: The Boy­er­town Lions Club will hold its din­ner meet­ing at 6:30 p.m. on Thurs­day at the Friend­ship Hook and Lad­der Co., South Read­ing Av­enue and War­wick Street. Amity Lioness will be join­ing us. The pro­gram will be on the April 2017 trip to Chicago for the In­ter­na­tional Con­ven­tion.

Phoenixville: Pro­fes­sional mu­si­cian Ivan Stiles, au­to­harp and more, will en­ter­tain the Af­ter­noon Mu­sic Club of Phoenixville at1 p.m. on Tues­day, Nov. 21, at the First United Methodist Church of Phoenixville, 865 S. Main St. The club, which has been in con­tin­u­ous op­er­a­tion since 1945, wel­comes guests for a nom­i­nal do­na­tion for the con­cert at the door and in­vites all to re­fresh­ments af­ter the pro­gram and brief meet­ing. Boy­er­town: At the Oc­to­ber meet­ing of the Boy­er­town Ju­nior Woman’s Club, mem­bers en­joyed an in­for­ma­tive pro­gram pre­sented by two foster child ad­vo­cates from CASA Berks County. Club mem­bers wore pur­ple for Do­mes­tic Vi­o­lence Aware­ness month. Also, the group pre­sented 28 “Birth­day bags” to the CASA ladies which were cre­ated by mem­bers to be given to the foster chil­dren. This is one of many projects the group has done in keep­ing with the two-year Pa. GFWC Pres­i­dent’s Project “En­rich, Ed­u­cate, Em­power — Ev­ery Child, Ev­ery Day !”
