Buchert leads Daniel Boone past Muhlenberg
What better way to end a twogame losing streak.
The Daniel Boone football team scored 17 unanswered points into the second half on the way to a 3821 win over Muhlenberg on Friday night.
With the win, Boone (1-3 Berks Conference I) improves to 4-4 overall while Muhlenberg (0-4, 0-8) continues its winless campaign.
Boone quarterback Tommy Buchert rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns to go along with a passing touchdown to Matt Okuniewski. For the game, he completed five of 12 passing attempts for 57 yards.
Tanner Vanderslice rushed it 12 times for 34 yards and a touchdown while kicker Nate Miller finished five-for-five on extra points and made a 37 yard field goal try.
Muhlenberg quarterback Mason Beerman completed eight of 16 passing attempts for 81 yards. He was picked off three times — twice by Okuniewski and once by Buchert — on the way to an 81yard passing game.
Running back Matthew Duffault rushed it 18 times for 168 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Christopher Lomas pulled in three catches for 49 yards and a score.
Boone will look to keep momentum heading into a game at Twin Valley next Friday night before closing out the regular season a week later against Exeter. Muhlenberg will face Conrad Weiser next Friday before closing out the year at Reading on Oct. 26.
