Buchert leads Daniel Boone past Muh­len­berg

What bet­ter way to end a twogame los­ing streak.

The Daniel Boone foot­ball team scored 17 unan­swered points into the sec­ond half on the way to a 3821 win over Muh­len­berg on Fri­day night.

With the win, Boone (1-3 Berks Con­fer­ence I) im­proves to 4-4 over­all while Muh­len­berg (0-4, 0-8) con­tin­ues its win­less cam­paign.

Boone quar­ter­back Tommy Buchert rushed for 192 yards and three touch­downs to go along with a pass­ing touch­down to Matt Oku­niewski. For the game, he com­pleted five of 12 pass­ing at­tempts for 57 yards.

Tanner Van­der­slice rushed it 12 times for 34 yards and a touch­down while kicker Nate Miller fin­ished five-for-five on ex­tra points and made a 37 yard field goal try.

Muh­len­berg quar­ter­back Ma­son Beer­man com­pleted eight of 16 pass­ing at­tempts for 81 yards. He was picked off three times — twice by Oku­niewski and once by Buchert — on the way to an 81yard pass­ing game.

Run­ning back Matthew Duf­fault rushed it 18 times for 168 yards and a pair of touch­downs while Christo­pher Lo­mas pulled in three catches for 49 yards and a score.

Boone will look to keep mo­men­tum head­ing into a game at Twin Val­ley next Fri­day night be­fore clos­ing out the reg­u­lar sea­son a week later against Ex­eter. Muh­len­berg will face Con­rad Weiser next Fri­day be­fore clos­ing out the year at Read­ing on Oct. 26.
