Tellabration! events planned in area
Tellabration!, a storytelling phenomenon, made up of storytelling happenings all over the world, and its purpose is to introduce adults, as well as children, to the pleasures of the oral art of storytelling. It is one of the programs offered by The Connecticut Storytelling Center, based at Connecticut College in New London.
In the Middletown area, there are several Tellabrations. On Nov. 10 at 7 p.m., Jennifer Munro will entertain adults at the Chester United Church. Tickets are $10. On Nov. 11, the Near and Far Storytellers will present Lorraine Hartin-Gilardi and an open mic, hosted at the Buttonwood Tree at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10. Also on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m., the New Britain Museum of Art will present storyteller, Tom Lee.
During November, there are 28 Tellabration! sites across the state of Connecticut in libraries, historical societies, churches and other community centers.
