Tellabration! events planned in area

Tellabration!, a sto­ry­telling phe­nom­e­non, made up of sto­ry­telling hap­pen­ings all over the world, and its pur­pose is to in­tro­duce adults, as well as chil­dren, to the plea­sures of the oral art of sto­ry­telling. It is one of the pro­grams of­fered by The Con­necti­cut Sto­ry­telling Cen­ter, based at Con­necti­cut Col­lege in New Lon­don.

In the Mid­dle­town area, there are sev­eral Tellabra­tions. On Nov. 10 at 7 p.m., Jen­nifer Munro will en­ter­tain adults at the Ch­ester United Church. Tick­ets are $10. On Nov. 11, the Near and Far Sto­ry­tellers will present Lor­raine Hartin-Gi­lardi and an open mic, hosted at the But­ton­wood Tree at 3 p.m. Tick­ets are $10. Also on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m., the New Bri­tain Mu­seum of Art will present sto­ry­teller, Tom Lee.

Dur­ing Novem­ber, there are 28 Tellabration! sites across the state of Con­necti­cut in li­braries, his­tor­i­cal so­ci­eties, churches and other com­mu­nity cen­ters.
