Art Center ready for 6th Soup for Good fundraiser
Event to support local artists and hunger relief
GUILFORD — It’s a fundraiser, it’s a soup dinner on a cold night, and it supports the arts and hunger relief in a local community. Patrons will eat up this event with a spoon, as they have five times before in Guilford, not to mention other arts-loving places in the state.
The sixth annual Soup for Good supper supports Guilford Art Center and the Community Dining Room Sunday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the 411 Church St. venue.
The dinner will take place in the art center’s school, where guests can select from a variety of hearty soups, homemade breads, desserts and a glass of wine or sparkling water. And, of course, the cool part is that each guest chooses their own one-ofa-kind soup bowl, crafted by GAC potters. Bowls will be washed for guests to take home “for good,” says a GAC release.
The center’s annual holiday shop, with other fine craft work made by American artists, will be open after the dinner as part of the annual shopping event called “Artistry: American Craft for the Holidays.”
Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at door. For information, call 203-453-5947 or visit Guilfordartcenter.org.
