Hos­pi­tal to host ‘Com­mu­nity Con­ver­sa­tion’

MIDDLETOWN — Mid­dle­sex Hos­pi­tal, along with sev­eral other part­ner or­ga­ni­za­tions, will host a com­mu­nity con­ver­sa­tion about the trans­gen­der and gen­der non­con­form­ing com­mu­ni­ties. The event will be held from 5:30-8 p.m.W ed­nes­day, Nov. 14 at Mid­dle­sex Com­mu­nity Col­lege, 100 Train­ing Hill Road in Middletown. Light re­fresh­ments will be served.

This con­ver­sa­tion is meant to help peo­ple bet­ter un­der­stand and sup­port the trans­gen­der and gen­der non-con­form­ing com­mu­ni­ties.

The event's key­note speaker will be Tony Fer­raiolo, a cer­ti­fied life coach and a trainer and ad­vo­cate for trans­gen­der youth. There will also be a panel dis­cus­sion. Mem­bers of the panel will in­clude Kathryn Tier­ney, med­i­cal di­rec­tor of the Mid­dle­sex Hos­pi­tal Trans­gen­der Medicine Pro­gram; Angel Roubin, a psy­chol­o­gist at Mid­dle­sex Hos­pi­tal; in­di­vid­u­als who iden­tify as trans­gen­der or gen­der non-con­form­ing; and those who are rel­a­tives or al­lies of th­ese in­di­vid­u­als.
