Duo’s TDs lead UC Davis past N. Ari­zona

Tehran Thomas and Kee­lan Doss scored two touch­downs apiece and UC Davis raced past North­ern Ari­zona 42-20 on Satur­day.

Doss capped the open­ing drive of the game with a 25-yard catch in the end zone from Jake Maier for the Ag­gies (8-1, 6-0 Big Sky Con­fer­ence). On the next two pos­ses­sions, Thomas turned a swing pass into a 39-yard touch­down and ran 5 yards for a score and a 21-0 lead af­ter one quar­ter.

Na­mane Modise ran for a 43-yard touch­down and Doss caught a 16-yard scor­ing toss from Maier in the fourth quar­ter for 35-6 lead.

Maier fin­ished 21-of-33 pass­ing for 262 yards, and Doss had eight catches for 103 yards, his 16th ca­reer 100-yard game. Thomas had 94 yards on the ground and 56 re­ceiv­ing as the Ag­gies piled up 477 yards on of­fense.

Bran­don Porter threw a 49-yard touch­down pass to Em­manuel But­ler, the 32nd scor­ing re­cep­tion of his ca­reer, and ran for a 49-yard touch­down for the Lum­ber­jacks (3-6, 2-4). Porter had 157 yards on 27 car­ries. We­ber State 26, Sacra­mento State 14: Jake Con­stan­tine passed for two touch­downs, Trey Tuttle added a pair of field goals and We­ber State won its fourth straight to re­main bunched among Big Sky Con­fer­ence lead­ers.

Tuttle kicked field goals of 42 and 35 yards, and Con­stan­tine threw a 20yard scor­ing pass to Dar­ryl Denby as the Wild­cats ( 7-2, 5-1) built a 13-0 lead af­ter a half.

We­ber State, ranked No. 5 in the FCS coaches poll, pushed the lead to 19-0 when Con­stan­tine con­nected with Rashid Sha­heed from 20 early in the third quar­ter.

Leonard Haze­wood IV picked up a Con­stan­tine fum­ble and re­turned it 33 yards for Sacra­mento State’s first touch­down.
