Duo’s TDs lead UC Davis past N. Arizona
Tehran Thomas and Keelan Doss scored two touchdowns apiece and UC Davis raced past Northern Arizona 42-20 on Saturday.
Doss capped the opening drive of the game with a 25-yard catch in the end zone from Jake Maier for the Aggies (8-1, 6-0 Big Sky Conference). On the next two possessions, Thomas turned a swing pass into a 39-yard touchdown and ran 5 yards for a score and a 21-0 lead after one quarter.
Namane Modise ran for a 43-yard touchdown and Doss caught a 16-yard scoring toss from Maier in the fourth quarter for 35-6 lead.
Maier finished 21-of-33 passing for 262 yards, and Doss had eight catches for 103 yards, his 16th career 100-yard game. Thomas had 94 yards on the ground and 56 receiving as the Aggies piled up 477 yards on offense.
Brandon Porter threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Emmanuel Butler, the 32nd scoring reception of his career, and ran for a 49-yard touchdown for the Lumberjacks (3-6, 2-4). Porter had 157 yards on 27 carries. Weber State 26, Sacramento State 14: Jake Constantine passed for two touchdowns, Trey Tuttle added a pair of field goals and Weber State won its fourth straight to remain bunched among Big Sky Conference leaders.
Tuttle kicked field goals of 42 and 35 yards, and Constantine threw a 20yard scoring pass to Darryl Denby as the Wildcats ( 7-2, 5-1) built a 13-0 lead after a half.
Weber State, ranked No. 5 in the FCS coaches poll, pushed the lead to 19-0 when Constantine connected with Rashid Shaheed from 20 early in the third quarter.
Leonard Hazewood IV picked up a Constantine fumble and returned it 33 yards for Sacramento State’s first touchdown.
