Trump excelled with economy and foreign policy

The Morning Call - - Town Square -

Yes, President Trump’s personality is abrasive and annoying. But what is important in a president — a pleasing personality or effective policies? The U.S. is not at war now and our economy has been excellent. No doubt it will rebound in the near future.

Some think the president should have handled the COVID-19 problem differently. Howdowe know that a Democrat as president would have done better? Hindsight — 20 / 20; foresight — none.

Regarding foreign policy, our foes around the world are not rational, peace-loving individuals. No, they are bullies. The only way to respond to a bully is to stand up to him; definitely not to lie down and play dead.

By keeping our military strong, we are safer than under a president who pacifies bullies. Do you remember Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain of Great Britain in 1938 —“peace for our time”? We know how well that worked out.

I urge you to vote for President Trump. Barbara Heist
