OHP: Mansfield woman dies in crash
A 6-year-old boy who was sitting in a booster seat in the backseat of the vehicle was freed by emergency service personnel and transported by medical helicopter to Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland with incapacitating injuries, according to the release.
A 30-year-old Mansfield woman was killed in twovehicle crash in Huntington Township on the evening of June 22 near state Route 58, according to a release from the Elyria Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
At 9:04 p.m., a green 2009 Dodge Journey was traveling eastbound on New London Eastern Road near the intersection with Route 58 and failed to stop at a stop sign, striking a 2012 Volvo semi-tractor trailer that was traveling south on Route 58 as it was approaching the intersection, according to the release.
The Journey then was pinned underneath the trailer of the Volvo before both vehicles came to a rest in the southbound lane of Route 58, the release said.
The driver of the Journey was identified Jessica Harper, 30, who died at the scene as a result of injuries suffered in the crash, the release said. Harper was not wearing a seat belt.

The 44-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer from Fort Bend, Texas, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the crash, the release said.
It is unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
