Lo­rain group to mark 30th an­niver­sary

The Lo­rain Sec­tion of the Na­tional Coun­cil of Ne­gro Women Inc. will cel­e­brate its 30th an­niver­sary at noon, Sept. 30, at the Spitzer Con­fer­ence Cen­ter of Lo­rain County Com­mu­nity Col­lege, 1005 N. Abbe Road in Elyria.

The group will rec­og­nize African Amer­i­can men who serve in ed­u­ca­tion through­out Lo­rain County. The group also will cel­e­brate the 142nd birth­day year of Mary McCleod Bethune, the or­ga­ni­za­tion’s founder and the founder of Bethune-Cook­man Col­lege in Day­tona, Fla.

David Hardy Jr., CEO of the Lo­rain City School District, is the key­note speaker.
