Con­victed drug traf­ficker ar­rested while out on bond

A 26-year-old Lo­rain man was ar­rested on drug traf­fick­ing charges at the cor­ner of Ober­lin Av­enue and Tower Boule­vard, ac­cord­ing to a Lo­rain Po­lice Depart­ment me­dia re­lease.

Manuel La­torre is charged with pos­ses­sion of Fen­tanyl, drug para­pher­na­lia and crim­i­nal tools, ac­cord­ing to the re­lease.

On Sept. 6. La­torre was con­victed in Lo­rain County Com­mon Pleas Court on sin­gle counts of par­tic­i­pa­tion in a crim­i­nal gang, felo­nious as­sault, weapons un­der dis­abil­ity and traf­fick­ing in drugs with firearms spec­i­fi­ca­tion, and two counts of heroin traf­fick­ing, the re­lease said.

The charges are cu­mu­la­tive of four sep­a­rate in­ves­ti­ga­tions and La­torre, after each new of­fense, did not have his bond re­voked, ac­cord­ing to the re­lease.

La­torre has a pre­vi­ous his­tory of drug traf­fick­ing, weapons vi­o­la­tions and re­lated of­fenses dat­ing back to 2009, ac­cord­ing to the re­lease.

Prior to his re­cent ar­rest, La­torre was free on bond, the re­lease said.

The re­lease in­di­cated po­lice are en­cour­ag­ing Com­mon Pleas Judge Mark Betleski to give La­torre maximum sen­tences on his pend­ing cases.
