Convicted drug trafficker arrested while out on bond
A 26-year-old Lorain man was arrested on drug trafficking charges at the corner of Oberlin Avenue and Tower Boulevard, according to a Lorain Police Department media release.
Manuel Latorre is charged with possession of Fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and criminal tools, according to the release.
On Sept. 6. Latorre was convicted in Lorain County Common Pleas Court on single counts of participation in a criminal gang, felonious assault, weapons under disability and trafficking in drugs with firearms specification, and two counts of heroin trafficking, the release said.
The charges are cumulative of four separate investigations and Latorre, after each new offense, did not have his bond revoked, according to the release.
Latorre has a previous history of drug trafficking, weapons violations and related offenses dating back to 2009, according to the release.
Prior to his recent arrest, Latorre was free on bond, the release said.
The release indicated police are encouraging Common Pleas Judge Mark Betleski to give Latorre maximum sentences on his pending cases.
