Two arrested in Lorain drug raid
Two Lorain men are facing multiple drug charges following the execution of a search warrant Feb. 13.
Michael Deskins, 25, and Devin Sweat, 22, were arrested at a residence in the 400 block of Brownell Avenue, according to Sgt. Tom Nimon of the Lorain Police Narcotics Bureau.
Deskins is charged with possession and trafficking of heroin/fentanyl, and single felony counts of possession of criminal tools and drug paraphernalia.
Sweat is facing charges of possession and trafficking of heroin/fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men are in the Lorain City Jail pending an arraignment in Lorain Municipal Court.
Nimon said the department was alerted to drug activity in the area by residents and watched the property for two weeks.
Inside the residence investigators found a few thousand dollars worth of fentanyl along with .380-caliber ammunition, police said. Deskins also was in possession of fentanyl, Nimon said.
“We were alerted by conscientious neighbors, people that live in that general area,” he said. “We got calls from people several blocks away. That really helps my office when we get those phone calls from people.”
