Elyria woman fac­ing drug charges

A 44-year-old Elyria woman is fac­ing drug charges af­ter po­lice found con­trolled sub­stances in her purse dur­ing a traf­fic stop, ac­cord­ing to an Elyria po­lice re­port.

Tracey L. John­son is charged with pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance, a fifth-de­gree felony, and driv­ing un­der sus­pen­sion, a first-de­gree mis­de­meanor, af­ter vy­vanse, pills con­tain­ing lis­dex­am­fe­tamine, were found in her purse at 6:31 p.m., Feb. 13, on 2nd Street, the re­port said.

John­son ini­tially told po­lice the pills were Motrin 800 given to her by a friend, but the tri­an­gu­lar-shaped pills later were iden­ti­fied as vy­vanse, ac­cord­ing to the re­port.

Po­lice trans­ported John­son to the Lo­rain County Jail.

John­son must ap­pear be­fore Elyria Mu­nic­i­pal Court Judge Robert C. White at 2 p.m., Feb. 15.
