Crash sends Lorain woman to hos­pi­tal

A two car-crash at the cor­ner of West Erie and Hamil­ton av­enues May 17 sent one woman to a hos­pi­tal.

Lorain po­lice Traf­fic Of­fi­cer Kyle Ge­le­nius said the driver of a Subaru Out­back, a 57-year-old Lorain woman, was driv­ing north on Hamil­ton around 1:30 p.m. and ran a stop sign, strik­ing a Mazda sedan head­ing east on West Erie. She was trans­ported to Mercy Health Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter suf­fer­ing from mi­nor in­juries, Ge­le­nius said.

The driver of the Mazda, a 50-year-old North Ridgeville woman, was not in­jured in the crash.

The Lorain Fire Depart­ment and Ernie’s Tow­ing as­sisted.

The crash re­mains un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
