FASD topic of course at Mur­ray Ridge

Fe­tal Al­co­hol Spec­trum Dis­or­ders are con­di­tions caused by a woman drink­ing al­co­hol dur­ing preg­nancy, and to help in­di­vid­u­als learn more about FASD – and how best to work with those af­fected to help them reach their fullest po­ten­tial – Mur­ray Ridge De­vel­op­men­tal Spe­cial­ist Kathy Be­vaque is con­duct­ing a free, four-ses­sion course.

The ses­sions will take place from 6-9 p.m., Oct. 16, 18, 23 and 25, at the Mur­ray Ridge Cen­ter Ser­vice and Sup­port Ad­min­is­tra­tion Build­ing, 9740 Mur­ray Ridge Road in Elyria.

The course is ideal for nurses, so­cial work­ers, coun­selors, physi­cians, ed­u­ca­tors, par­ents and care­givers who work with in­di­vid­u­als with pre­na­tal ex­po­sure to al­co­hol or drugs, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease.
