Outlook: offense

Having eight starters back on offense is a big key. Then again, the Skippers went 2-8 last season and struggled to score. There’s a new face at quarterback, junior Tanner Nahorniak. To give him the best chance of passing effectively, running the ball would help immensely. Marcus Toreki and Nathan Bagin are back this year, so there is experience at running back. Team leader Ryan Thomas started last year at running back, but is at center this year. He’s small for that position (5-9, 176) but is a relentless worker and competitor. Four starters are back on the offensive front, and there’s some decent size, including 6-1, 233-pound Nick Bonczek. There’s a ton of talent in the freshmen class.
