Fu­neral Mass for Al­bert M. Kanet­sky, 70, of Rocky River, will be 11 a.m. Satur­day at Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Wil­loughby.

Mr. Kanet­sky passed away Mon­day, Aug. 28, 2017, at his res­i­dence. Born Nov. 24, 1946, in Youngstown, he had been a res­i­dent of Lake County for 39 years, living in Wil­loughby be­fore mov­ing to Rocky River two years ago.

Al was a mem­ber of Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion Church in Wil­loughby, where he was a mem­ber of the church’s Holy Name So­ci­ety and Men’s Soft­ball team. Al was also a mem­ber of the Cleve­land Chem­i­cals As­so­ci­a­tion, Ja­pan So­ci­ety, and the Cleve­land Coun­cil on World Af­fairs. Mr. Kanet­sky was a U.S. Air Force vet­eran, an avid sports fan, and en­joyed golf and soft­ball. His fam­ily was very im­por­tant to him, es­pe­cially his grand­chil­dren.

Al was the beloved hus­band of 47 years to Set­suko (nee Sato) Kanet­sky; lov­ing fa­ther of Mike (Ch­eryl) Kanet­sky, Cathy (Eric) Pfaff, Tanya (Tom) Purdy, Nancy (Brian) Mer­ritt and Jen (Tom) Wat­son; cher­ished grand­fa­ther of Stephanie, Ryan, Joey, Jake, Josh, Gar­ri­son, Alex and Mar­gaux; brother of Kandy Budd, Marty (Mary Ann) Kanet­sky, John Kanet­sky and Joseph Kanet­sky; and un­cle of nieces and neph­ews.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Al­bert and Mary (nee Martinko) Kanet­sky.

Fam­ily will re­ceive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Fri­day at McMa­hon-Coyne-Vi­tan­to­nio Fu­neral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Wil­loughby. Burial will be in All Souls Ceme­tery in Chardon Town­ship.
