‘Try Hockey’ event planned in Eu­clid

Lake Erie Pan­thers Hockey Club will host “Try Hockey For Free Day” from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 4 at the C.E. Orr Ice Arena, 22550 Mil­ton Ave. in Eu­clid.

This event is de­signed to pro­vide kids, be­tween ages 4-9, a com­pletely free ex­pe­ri­ence to try youth hockey. Par­tic­i­pants will re­ceive a free hockey jersey and hockey stick, and a lim­ited amount of equip­ment is avail­able to bor­row.

Coaches will be on the ice to as­sist chil­dren in learn­ing the ba­sics. Chil­dren who are par­tic­i­pat­ing do not need any pre­vi­ous skat­ing or hockey ex­pe­ri­ence.

USA Hockey and 500 as­so­ci­a­tions across the U.S. host “Try Hockey For Free Day” on Nov. 4. This pro­gram, de­signed to pro­vide youth hockey as­so­ci­a­tions a na­tional plat­form to in­tro­duce new kids to the sport, is a joint ef­fort be­tween USA Hockey, the Na­tional Hockey League and NHL mem­ber clubs.
