Gander Outdoors coming thanks to ‘The Profit’

The News Herald (Willoughby, OH) - - Icymi -

Mentor city officials got some good news recently regarding one of the community’s former retail giants.

The Gander Mountain building at 9620 Diamond Centre Drive will be reopening this spring as Gander Outdoors.

Marcus Lemonis, star of CNBC’s reality TV series ”The Profit”, bought Gander Mountain assets in bankruptcy court in May and is beginning to reopen many of the chain’s stores, according to businesswire.com.

The store — anticipated to open mid-April to early May — will employ 55 people and comprise 31,000 square feet of outdoor retail, apparel, supply and service space.

“It was important to me to bring Gander Outdoors back to the wonderful community of Mentor because the employees were top-notch and the store was a great performer serving the outdoor enthusiast community,” said Lemonis, also chairman of Camping World Holdings, which now owns the chain.
