Author to talk about LeBron James

Author Scott Raab is com­ing to Men­tor Pub­lic Li­brary on Jan. 29 to dis­cuss his new book, “You’re Wel­come, Cleve­land: How I Helped LeBron James Win a Cham­pi­onship and Save a City.”

Raab has writ­ten for GQ and Esquire mag­a­zines, but lo­cally he is best known as author of “The Whore of Akron,” writ­ten shortly af­ter LeBron James left the Cleve­land Cava­liers for the Mi­ami Heat in 2010.

That book chan­neled Raab’s hu­mor and sports rage, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease. “You’re Wel­come, Cleve­land” is a re­demp­tion story for both Raab and James, the re­lease stated.

Raab will talk about his book and com­pli­cated re­la­tion­ship with James when he vis­its at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Branch — 8215 Men­tor Ave. in Men­tor.

The talk is free and open to all. Raab’s books will be avail­able for sale and sign­ing.

The li­brary does ask that peo­ple reg­is­ter be­fore they at­tend.
