Shirley Dar­lene Calvin, 75, of Veedersburg IN, passed away 4:28 AM Thurs­day November 8, 2018 at Well­brooke of Craw­fordsville IN.

Shirley was born March 18, 1943 in Fair­mount, Illi­nois the daugh­ter of Vic­tor and Ce­cil (Groves) Keller.

She met her hus­band to be, Wil­liam Paul

Calvin when she was 16 years old; they­were mar­ried November 18, 1962 and he pre­ceded her in death Oc­to­ber 12, 2005

She is also pre­ceded in death by her par­ents, three broth­ers, and six sis­ters.

Sur­viv­ing fam­ily in­clude two daugh­ters, Teresa Dar­lene (Danny) Hall, King­man IN; Gwen­dolyn Calvin (Ge­orge) Dusek, Pittsboro NC; a sis­ter Au­dra Delp, Craw­fordsville IN; five grand­chil­dren, Alysha ( Danny) Smith, Eric Hall, Ni­cholas Hall, Ja­cob Dusek, and Isaac Dusek.

Shirley had worked as a hair­dresser be­fore her daugh­ters were born; and af­ter they were raised she was em­ployed at Cul­ver Union Hospi­tal as unit sec­re­tary and re­source man­ager, she had worked there un­til her re­tire­ment. She had at­tended both Ster­ling Chris­tian Church in Veedersburg and Ever­green United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill NC. She was a mem­ber of Tri Kappa and ear­lier in life had been very ac­tive with them.

She en­joyed sewing, read­ing, and re­search­ing ge­neal­ogy. More than any­thing she loved and en­joyed spend­ing time with her fam­ily, es­pe­cially her grand­chil­dren.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be 2:00 PM Satur­day November 10, 2018 at First Chris­tian Church 301 North Mill Street Veedersburg IN with Pas­tor Gary John­son officiating. Visi­ta­tion will be­gin 12:00 PM Satur­day at the church and con­tinue un­til the time of ser­vice at 2:00 PM. Burial will fol­low at Rock­field Ceme­tery near Veedersburg.
