INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE AT WEIR FARM
Weir Farm National Historic Site is partnering with the National Council for Preservation Education to provide three paid internships beginning this spring and summer.
To be eligible, candidates must be enrolled in an academic program in historic preservation or an allied field such as history or archaeology, or recently graduated (October 2017 or later). NCPE interns receive a stipend equal to $15 per hour.
The internships include two “visitor service” internships and a “curatorial intern” position.
The curatorial intern will commit to 1,200 hours over 30 weeks and is for those interested in a career in museum collections management, history, art, archives, archaeology, preservation, or a related discipline. The visitor service interns will commit to the same number of hours/weeks and will need strong communication, interpersonal, computer, research, writing, and organizational skills.
Housing is not available at Weir Farm National Historic Site. The intern is responsible for housing and transportation. A background check is required for all internship positions.
