⏩ ORGANIZATIONS ACCEPTING THANKSGIVING DONATIONS
Two organizations have teamed up to gather money and food donations ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
United Way of Western Connecticut and the Woman’s Club of Greater New Milford will be collecting goods like pie crust mix, canned pie filling and cranberry sauce at the New Milford bandstand Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It’s part of an effort dubbed “Operation Thanksgiving” aimed to meet the needs of about 250 families, organizers say.
“With many parents out of work, and children at home more days of the week, family food budgets are stretched to their limits,” said Katy Francis, a community impact coordinator for United Way of Western Connecticut in New Milford, in the release. “This event brings the Greater New Milford community together to make sure those who are having a tough time this year are able to still have a good Thanksgiving with their families.”
