Al­bert H. Scofield

Al­bert H. Scofield, age 88, passed away Nov. 7, 2018 peace­fully in his sleep, at his daugh­ter’s home in Stam­ford. Bert was born and raised in the Broad River sec­tion of Nor­walk and lived in Wil­ton with his par­ents af­ter he fin­ished serv­ing in the United States Air Force. In 1959 he got mar­ried and built his own house in Wil­ton.

Bert served in the Air Force, 1949-1953, sta­tioned in Green­land and North Carolina. He was hon­or­ably dis­charged as Staff Sergeant. He started a con­struc­tion com­pany AH Scofield Builders, Inc., build­ing and re­mod­el­ing many houses in the Wil­ton CT area. He worked un­til 1987 when he re­tired. He en­joyed wood­work­ing, fish­ing, and restor­ing clas­sic cars. Bert spent much of his last years put­ter­ing around in his work­shop.

Sur­vived by daugh­ter Kim Scofield of Stam­ford, CT, sis­ter Eliz­a­beth Fluet, nieces Lynn Farr of Cen­tral, South Carolina, Cor­rine Fluet of Mont­pe­lier, VT and nephew Nor­bert Fluet of Barre, VT and for­mer wife Terttu Ru­uska of Fin­land. He was pre­de­ceased by son Jef­frey Scofield, par­ents Dorothy and Al­bert P. and nephew Daniel Fluet.
