New vaccine clinic openings at Norwalk Senior Center

-

The Norwalk Health Department is launching three new COVID-19 vaccination clinics at the senior center this week, Chief of Community Services Lamond Daniels said.

Seniors 75 and older who are eligible for the vaccine should sign up for a slot through the Vaccine Administration Management System. Slots are available for the week of Jan. 25, Daniels said.

The vaccines will be administered at the Norwalk Senior Center. The vaccine slots are regional, meaning once the vaccine clinic locations and slot are live online, they are available to those who do not live in Norwalk as well, Daniels said.

“Hopefully we can get Norwalkers in,” Daniels said. “Once we go live, anyone can utilize the clinic. The VAMS system is statewide, so someone from Hartford, if they want to take the spot in Norwalk, that’s the way the system is designed.”

Norwalk residents 75 and older looking to be vaccinated at the clinics must sign up ahead of time using the VAMS system. abigail.brone @hearstmediact.com
