This past week­end the Oak­dale Stam­pede hosted the Cen-Cal Youth Foot­ball Round Robin scrim­mage. Lo­cal teams from the league came to the new field in­side The Cor­ral at Oak­dale High School. Play­ers at all lev­els suited up and played one an­other in the scrim­mage ac­tion, which lasted through­out the day on Satur­day, Aug. 19.

The Stam­pede opens play this week­end on the road against the Man­teca Buf­faloes. Rook­ies take the field at 9 a.m., fol­lowed by the Pee­wee game sched­uled for 11 a.m.

Ju­nior Var­sity ac­tion is sched­uled to kick off at 1 p.m. and the de­fend­ing Su­per Bowl cham­pion Var­sity Stam­pede team kick­off is at 3 p.m.

The games will be played at Man­teca High School, 450 E. Yosemite Ave. in Man­teca. Week three is Oak­dale’s home opener against the Pride. That game will be held in­side the Cor­ral on Satur­day, Sept. 9.

Young Stam­pede player Dal­las Dart, 10, made big plays dur­ing the Round Robin on Satur­day, in­clud­ing this touch­down. Mem­bers of the Stam­pede ju­nior var­sity de­fense had to gang tackle this Pride run­ner.
