Early Morning Crash Leads To Arrest

The Oakdale Leader - - NEWS -

Oakdale Police arrested a man on two separate counts following an early morning crash on Thursday, Aug. 17.

According to information provided by the Oakdale Police Department, they received multiple 9-1-1 calls at the local station shortly before 5 a.m. on Aug. 17. The calls were in connection with an overturned vehicle at the intersection of Willowood and West F Street. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a male had exited the wrecked vehicle and got into another vehicle that then fled the scene of the collision.

While officers were on scene investigating the solo hit and run collision, authorities said the registered owner of the involved vehicle called the Oakdale Police Department to report the vehicle as stolen. Officers later identified the driver of the vehicle as Dylan Prasher, 24. He was also determined by police to be the boyfriend of the registered owner.

Prasher was subsequently contacted and arrested. Police said he was also found to be a felon in possession of pepper spray. He was arrested on counts including hit and run and felon in possession of pepper spray.
