Women’s Club Gath­er­ing

Oak­dale Women’s Club will host its Sec­ond An­nual New Mem­ber­ship Tea on Thurs­day, Aug. 31 from noon to 2 p.m. The event will be hosted in the Mem­ber’s Lounge of the Oak­dale Golf and Coun­try Club, 243 N. Stearns Road, Oak­dale. Oak­dale Women’s Club is a not for profit or­ga­ni­za­tion whose goal is to pro­mote civic im­prove­ments for the City of Oak­dale. The tea is free to the com­mu­nity. Mu­seum Hosts Bunco

Oak­dale Mu­seum and His­tory Cen­ter will host its 2017 Bunco Fun Night on Thurs­day, Aug. 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will be hosted at the Gene Bianchi Com­mu­nity Cen­ter. The event is open to all com­mu­nity mem­bers, in­clud­ing those new to Bunco, who will be taught to play. A $20 do­na­tion is re­quested and will in­clude snacks and prizes. Park Mys­tery Event

The fi­nal sum­mer ses­sion of His­tory’s Mys­ter­ies at Columbia State His­toric Park is sched­uled for 10 a.m. on Satur­day, Sept. 2. To pur­chase tick­ets, visit the park mu­seum or www.friend­sof­columbi­ashp.com to buy on­line or con­tact the park of­fice at 209-588-9128. Cos­tumed vol­un­teers and park staff present a live reen­act­ment and solve a his­tor­i­cal case dur­ing this in­ter­ac­tive event. Reser­va­tions are highly rec­om­mended. Cost is $5/adults and $1/chil­dren. Each child un­der 12 must be ac­com­pa­nied by a par­ent or guardian.

Sail With A Vet­eran

Sail to Re­cov­ery will be of­fered on Satur­day, Sept. 23; it’s a pro­gram of the lo­cal Amer­i­can Veter­ans First or­ga­ni­za­tion. Sail to Re­cov­ery will run from noon to 5 p.m. at the Stock­ton Sail­ing Club, 4980 Buck­ley Cove Way in Stock­ton. Reg­is­tra­tion is be­ing ac­cepted now and vol­un­teers with boats are be­ing sought; you can vol­un­teer your boat and reg­is­ter as a skip­per. Speech­train Ses­sion

The lo­cal REO Speech­train Toast­mas­ters Club gath­ers for reg­u­lar meet­ings ev­ery Wed­nes­day morn­ing, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Pat­ter­son and Oak­dale roads, River­bank. This is a fun way to learn the self-con­fi­dence and skills needed for public speak­ing. All are in­vited to come and check out the group. The next meet­ing will be Wed­nes­day, Sept. 6.
