Cross Coun­try Team At UOP In­vi­ta­tional

Satur­day morn­ing the Oak­dale cross coun­try teams headed to Stock­ton for the Univer­sity Of Pa­cific In­vi­ta­tional Cross Coun­try Meet.

In a five kilo­me­ter race the var­sity boys placed 22nd out of 41 teams. James Forkner fin­ished the race at 17:13 and team­mates Rus­sell Pa­balan (18:03) and Cade Mid­daugh (18:52) also com­peted for Oak­dale. The fresh­man and sopho­more boys team fin­ished 11th out of 21 teams. Tan­ner Cu­sano fin­ished at 10:54 and Austin Bruner (11:46) and Bray­den Far­ris (12:22) also ran for Oak­dale in a two mile event.

On the girls side the var­sity girls did not fill a whole team. Kay­den Le­gan (19:58) placed 25th over­all amongst the run­ners. Paris Thomp­son fin­ished the five kilo­me­ter race in 21:33.

“The whole team had a very hard week of prac­tice and it paid off Satur­day when most run­ners ran sea­son best or life­time best times,” coach Guy Fowler said. “It was a very pos­i­tive day for us and sets us up well for the VOL #2 com­ing up on Oc­to­ber 4.”

Oak­dale will com­pete at Tracy’s Ea­gal Lakes in the sec­ond Val­ley Oak League meet on Wed­nes­day, Oct. 4 with race time sched­uled for 3:30 p.m.


Tan­ner Cu­sano took 11th over­all in the fresh­man/sopho­more boys two mile race on Satur­day.
