OID Can­di­date Fo­rum Sched­uled For Oct. 11

The League of Women Vot­ers will be host­ing a Can­di­date Fo­rum on Oct. 11 for the Oak­dale Ir­ri­ga­tion Dis­trict races, which fea­ture con­tests for two posts.

In OID Dis­trict 2, which in­cludes por­tions of Stanis­laus and San Joaquin coun­ties, in­cum­bent Her­man Door­nen­bal Jr., a farmer, is be­ing chal­lenged by Don J. Taro, a ranch owner.

Dis­trict 5 will have a race pit­ting farmer Brad DeBoer against grower Grover Fran­cis. The seat was pre­vi­ously held by Gary Os­mund­son, but he va­cated the post ear­lier this year when he moved out of the dis­trict. The seat cov­ers a por­tion of Oak­dale.

In Dis­trict 3, farmer/leg­isla­tive an­a­lyst Tom Orvis is run­ning un­op­posed.

The Can­di­date Fo­rum is sched­uled from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Oak­dale City Coun­cil Cham­bers on North Sec­ond Av­enue and is sched­uled for Wed­nes­day, Oct. 11.

Lo­cal res­i­dents are en­cour­aged to come to meet the can­di­dates, ask ques­tions and learn more about the OID can­di­dates and their goals.

The free event is pre­sented by the League of Women Vot­ers of Stanis­laus County.
