League Of Women Vot­ers Hosts Can­di­date Fo­rum

Learn more about the can­di­dates for the Oak­dale Ir­ri­ga­tion District at a fo­rum sched­uled for Wed­nes­day, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., staged in the City Coun­cil Cham­bers in Oak­dale.

The League of Women Vot­ers will be host­ing the Can­di­date Fo­rum for the Oak­dale Ir­ri­ga­tion District races, which fea­ture con­tests for two posts, those of District 2 and District 5. In District 3, farmer/leg­isla­tive an­a­lyst Tom Orvis is run­ning un­op­posed.

The race in OID District 2, which in­cludes por­tions of Stanis­laus and San Joaquin coun­ties, fea­tures in­cum­bent Her­man Door­nen­bal Jr., a farmer, and chal­lenger Don J. Taro, a ranch owner.

The race for the District 5 seat pits farmer Brad DeBoer against grower Grover Francis.

The Can­di­date Fo­rum is sched­uled from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Oak­dale City Coun­cil Cham­bers on North Sec­ond Av­enue and is sched­uled for Wed­nes­day, Oct. 11. Res­i­dents are en­cour­aged to come to meet the can­di­dates, ask ques­tions and learn more about the OID can­di­dates and their goals.
