County’s Deputy Of­fi­cer Fo­cus­ing On Preven­tion

Ruben Im­pe­rial has been ap­pointed to fill the po­si­tion of Deputy Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer with the Stanis­laus County Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fice. His work will cen­ter on pro­vid­ing lead­er­ship and di­rec­tion in the align­ment of the County with Fo­cus on Preven­tion, a re­gional ini­tia­tive with the aim to im­prove the qual­ity of life for all Stanis­laus res­i­dents and fam­i­lies through co­or­di­nated preven­tion ef­forts work­ing across mul­ti­ple sec­tors.

Start­ing as a Clin­i­cal Ser­vices Tech­ni­cian in the Stanis­laus Be­hav­ioral Cen­ter within the County’s Be­hav­ioral Health and Re­cov­ery Ser­vices in 2002, Im­pe­rial held var­i­ous man­age­ment roles in preven­tion ser­vices be­fore com­ing to the CEO’s Of­fice in 2015. He for­merly served as Chief of the Adult Sys­tem of Care. Since 2015, Im­pe­rial has worked in the County CEO’s Of­fice as the Community De­vel­op­ment and Em­pow­er­ment Man­ager, serv­ing as a man­age­ment li­ai­son with Mu­nic­i­pal Ad­vi­sory Coun­cils and var­i­ous other community part­ners as an im­por­tant stew­ard of the Fo­cus on Preven­tion ini­tia­tive which he launched un­der the lead­er­ship of for­mer CEO, Stan Risen.

work­ing with our community part­ners through Fo­cus on Preven­tion,” said Jody Hayes, Stanis­laus County Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer. “Ruben’s con­tri­bu­tions to this ef­fort have been es­sen­tial over th­ese last two years as we have de­vel­oped and shaped our foun­da­tion for community trans­for­ma­tion. Ruben has demon­strated him­self to be a leader who em­bod­ies the value sys­tem we as­pire to grow through­out the community.”

Im­pe­rial serves on the Board of Di­rec­tors for the City Min­istry Net­work, an or­ga­ni­za­tion com­mit­ted to strength­en­ing faith-sec­tor community de­vel­op­ment ef­forts in Modesto. More re­cently, he’s ac­cepted a Board of Di­rec­tors po­si­tion with a new area non­profit start-up, Stanis­laus SOUP, which serves as a mi­cro-grant or­ga­ni­za­tion, cel­e­brat­ing and sup­port­ing cre­ative community-based projects in Stanis­laus County. He was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. He re­ceived his Masters of Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion along with his BA in Po­lit­i­cal Sci­ence from Stanis­laus State. He lives in Tur­lock with his wife Carolina and daugh­ter Is­abella.
